Reposting, for those who are thinking of joining the Saturday Speakeasy!
I've missed you all...
I've missed you all...
May 17, 2014!
The itinerary is below. This one includes lunch, and is a definite "go", no matter how few or many attend, with no change in price. This one is guaranteed because we have at least one out-of towner attending who is promised this tour, since it agrees with her travel schedule. All conditions regarding cancellation or inability to attend below apply, and full refund or future tour if anything beyond my control prevents me from leading this tour (weather, illness, etc.), of course.
Could you please think about planning a tour May 15-17?
ReplyDeleteI will be traveling down from Alaska and would love to get an insiders look at the garment district!!!!!
Connie
Well, there's no reason why not... I can always schedule one. Let's do it. Not the 16th, though. That's my birthday!
DeleteHi Mimi, May is too far away for me as I'm here now from overseas :-)
ReplyDeleteI remember finding your blog last year when I came for just 1 day and your tips made my half day in the garment district already sooo much better. I would love to know if there is a way to buy the map by itself?
Thank you!
Anke
Sure - I'll sell you the map for $10. Just let me know via email if you want one. Keep in mind, it will have many more stores on it than we will visit on the tour, so it isn't an itinerary, but rather a more comprehensive map, user-friendly for those of us shopping for pleasure sewing or small businesses.
DeleteI am very interested in this tour. I live in Washington DC and have traveled to NYC specifically looking for fabrics, and basically got lost after going to a few stores. I am thinking of taking the train or the bus. Do you have any advice on which is best, with an eye towards your proposed itinerary?
ReplyDeleteBarrie
The train is far more predictable, in terms of arrival time. I have had a past tour participant whose bus was very late, and it was a disaster for her, trying to catch up with us. If you know your arrival time, and it is later than the tour begins, I can always tell you where to meet us.
DeleteThanks for the quick response. This tour sounds like its just what I need. Do you have a minimun number of people you need to have the tour?Barrie
ReplyDeleteNo minimum #. This date is promised because at least one person is traveling to the city to take it!
DeleteI'm planning on making 2 reservations for your tour. Would love some hotel help! We will be traveling down from NH with our husbands, so have to figure out how to make it as feasible as possible.
