Fabric has no expiration date...

***Note: This post is particularly funny, as I had rescheduled it for a time when I just knew it would have been turned into something great... and, as of today, it still hasn't! (further proving my point?)

And thank God it doesn't...

Heaven knows I'd be swimming in a sea of "expired" fabric by now, if that were true.

But... let's say you bought some silk fabric years ago, that you just loved, but never fully committed to a project? Well, you take this beautiful, irregularly striped fabric, and hand it over to International Pleating, to make it magical.

Tight, mushroom pleating takes those stripes to different textural magic (below)... but, creatively paired with its unpleated version (above),

 it becomes...

Stay tuned...

  1. Gorgeous! But, as it's silk, do you plan to never wash it? I generally pleat synthetics as the pleats are permanent. I am eager to see what you did with it!

    1. This isn't a garment, so it works! But no, likely spot cleaning is the most it will need!

  2. Oh love this option! What is the turn around time for the pleating? I am headed to NYC for a 5 day long weekend and would love to have some fabrics pleated. Thanks for the tip!

    1. Turn around time depends on their workload. Keep in mind, you can go with your fabric, consult, plan, and it can be shipped to you. Turn around could be quick - depends on their schedule.
