**Update: The answer, thank you to Rosen & Chadick, who can see the action from their own front window... is that the statue is on a 4 month "vacation" while some work is being done in the area. Our worker will be back!

Oh no!
ReplyDeleteNOooooooooooo! Would whoever stole the tailor bring him back! I mean what next, the giant button & needle?
ReplyDeleteI really hope this doesn't spell the end of the NYC Garment District. Being an expat now this area is the main reason for my almost annual pilgrimage back to NYC. None of the other cities I've visited in the world compares to it. I hope NYC doesn't lose this unique treasure.
Now, it is certainly too big to "steal", so I'm kidding when I say that. I just hope vandalism or some other calamity wasn't to blame. And... I hope it's temporary!
DeleteI look forward to seeing him back where he belongs.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know where he went? My dad was near there in November and he wasn't back yet
ReplyDeleteI was just in that spot today, and didn't even check to see if he was there, as i was doing other things! I'm sure we'll find out soon! I don't think the surrounding construction/building work is finished yet.
